Important Notice About Temporary Taste & Odor in Drinking Water

 We’ve been made aware of a temporary earthy or musty taste and odor in the drinking water, due to naturally occurring compounds in the source water from the Town of Denton. While this may be unpleasant, the water remains safe to drink and meets all state and federal health standards. To help mitigate this issue, we are implementing a system-wide flushing program to clear the lines more quickly and reduce taste and odor impacts. If you use water filters at home, consider replacing them as they may retain these compounds. We appreciate your patience as this naturally occurring issue is resolved. Please note: This rate change only affects customers on our sewer system at Badin Lake, including Badin Lake, Uwharrie Point, and Badin Shores Resort.
